The World is Round

January 28th, 2010 by Kate & Brooke

As us office bound folks sit mostly chained to our desks, I consider it good fortune then that we get to live vicariously through the lives of those that travel…and share.

And although TP photographer Fernando Decilis didn’t bring us back any spices from his recent commissioned travels to Colombia, he did feed us with some personal portraits and shared some story too:

“This past weekend we packed up and went to the family Farm House, two hours outside Bogotá. Was Built in the 60’s. Is a great place to get away for the weekend, it’s like stepping back in time. It has never been remodeled, so all the furniture and architecture still remains the same. All the closets are filled with antique board games, tons of family albums, blankets, sports gear, and just great stuff. There’s no phone line or Internet connection, so we spend most of the time lounging around going through pictures, post cards, and things, or outside with the farm animals, mostly cows. So these two images I created are a representation of that feeling you get when you go there, just wanting to sit back and reminisce about all the great memories. I guess you could call them Family Portraits :)”
