As us office bound folks sit mostly chained to our desks, I consider it good fortune then that we get to live vicariously through the lives of those that travel…and share.
And although TP photographer Fernando Decilis didn’t bring us back any spices from his recent commissioned travels to Colombia, he did feed us with some personal portraits and shared some story too:
“This past weekend we packed up and went to the family Farm House, two hours outside Bogotá. Was Built in the 60’s. Is a great place to get away for the weekend, it’s like stepping back in time. It has never been remodeled, so all the furniture and architecture still remains the same. All the closets are filled with antique board games, tons of family albums, blankets, sports gear, and just great stuff. There’s no phone line or Internet connection, so we spend most of the time lounging around going through pictures, post cards, and things, or outside with the farm animals, mostly cows. So these two images I created are a representation of that feeling you get when you go there, just wanting to sit back and reminisce about all the great memories. I guess you could call them Family Portraits :)”

After one of many recent NoCal storms, Heimo shared with us this shipwreck he came upon. No he didn’t have to rescue anyone but certainly a cause for pause thinking about what’s next for the owner.

When newly appointed creative director of Malibu Times Magazine, Sean Sharifi, wanted a sure thing for portraits of a few of LA’s top trainers for the debut issue, he tapped into the talents of photographer Thierry Bearzatto. And just a bit of history that Thierry and Sean established friendship and results while having worked together on product campaigns for Sebastian Hair Care, Trucco and Nokia so knowing he would get iconic no matter the subject matter, made this one of the easiest decisions of the Magazine’s re-design. But just in case you’re not a subscriber, we’re sharing the results below.

Photograph appearing in Psychology Today January 2010 issue for the story on challenging relationships titled “Mother Damned-est”. And of course no one better to capture the photo element on a story regarding the human dynamic than Timothy. He shared with us that:
“Both the editors at the magazine and myself were a bit nervous anticipating the photo shoot with Shayne Hughes and his mother. I expected to witness a disfunctional relationship between a mother and son all being demonstrated before us on the shoot…leading to a disasterous photoshoot. The magazine even kind of gave me a back up plan…just in case this situation did not work out. What I got to see into was a super healthy relationship between Mother and Son where they both could be honest about the challeges they faced together when they were younger and currently. What started out as a shoot I felt trepidation about evolved into a shoot that I found ultimately inspiring.”
we couldn’t help but take a moment to share our happiness in celebrating and announcing the newest addition to the tidepool family—thierry bearzatto.
